Stellvia - Vol. 2: Foundation II (DVD)
In 2167, an electromagnetic wave--the result of a supernova--bathed the earth in harmful radiation. Now, 186 years later, an even more harmful Second Wave is on its way. Mankind has erected various space stations throughout the galaxy to monitor electromagnetic activity. 15-year-old computer genius named Shima Katase has just entered a space academy on Stellavia, the station closest to Earth. Shima has all the makings of a star student, but she finds herself dangerously close to being the class troublemaker. As the Second Wave hurtles toward Earth, she may turn out to be a key player in minimizing the damaging effects of the oncoming cataclysm. In these episodes, Shima competes in an intergalactic competition. Her notoriously poor piloting skills may not be good enough to keep up with the top players. Also, Shima competes against the talented Ayaka in the lightning joust event.
